Mountain Gaba Tea is a distinctive Taiwanese tea developed through a specialised anaerobic process that enhances its naturally occurring GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) content. It offers a smooth, balanced profile with a refined character and a gentle, calming effect.
Originally developed through scientific research and later refined by Taiwanese tea masters, this tea represents a unique combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern processing techniques. The result is a tea that is both expressive in flavour and valued for its naturally soothing properties.
Grown in Taiwan at elevations of around 800 metres, this tea benefits from clean mountain air, fertile soil, and careful cultivation. The leaves are hand-picked and processed in an oxygen-free environment, allowing them to develop their distinctive profile while preserving their structure.
The taste is smooth and rounded, with notes of dried fruit, soft sweetness, and a light, warm finish. The infusion is balanced and mellow, offering depth without heaviness and a clean, lingering aftertaste.
This tea provides a naturally calming and grounding experience, helping to support relaxation, maintain focus, and bring a sense of balance - ideal for both workdays and evening tea moments.
